ArrowTour is Coming to a Town Near You!

This year, the Order of the Arrow (OA) is celebrating its centennial anniversary with a myriad of programs, awards and special events. One way the OA is celebrating is ArrowTour: an interactive program for Scouts, volunteers and Scouting alumni that will travel throughout the country during the summer of 2015. The purpose of the tour is to allow guests to reflect on the OA’s legacy and 100 years of history, connect with all of the current initiatives and opportunities the Order has to offer and discover the unlimited possibilities the future has in store. ArrowTour will consist of four traveling caravans, one for each region, led by its respective 2014 region chief.Arrow_tour

During the event, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the Order of the Arrow, its story and its future. Some of the program highlights include interactive exhibits, such as silk-screening and branding, along with challenge games. Participants will have a chance to meet some of the Order’s national leaders, and alumni can learn about the Scouting Alumni Association and local alumni efforts to supporting Scouting in our area.

Kyle Piper, Northeast Region Crew Chief, said, “ArrowTour is unique in that it allows local lodges to enhance the centennial experience by supplementing other fun programs and activities. No single stop will be quite like the others!”

ArrowTour is intended for all members of the Scouting community, not just OA members. Arrowmen are strongly encouraged to bring non-Scouting family members and friends to partake in this enriching historic experience. Lodges are partnering with their councils to create a marketing plan that encourages all Scouts and Scouters in the area to attend. It is also recommended that lodges and councils take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime event to add additional program elements such as lodge history displays to make their stops even more special.
