BSA Goes Off-Road with Polaris

BSA Goes Off-Road with Polaris

Did you get a chance to check out the Pearson Exhibit Hall at #NAM2015? If so, you definitely caught a glimpse of the front-and-center Polaris booth that was crowded with off-road vehicles for Scouts of all ages. And if you walked in little closer to the booth you probably learned about the BSA’s ongoing partnership with Polaris, which is bringing some really cool all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) to BSA High-Adventure bases.

Whether you are heading to Philmont Scout Ranch, the Summit Bechtel Reserve or other select Boy Scout camps across the nation, Polaris will be there to help Scouts explore nature in a fun (and safe!) environment. After two wildly popular pilot programs at the Northern Star Council’s Tomahawk Scout Reservation and the Northern Lights Council’s Camp Wilderness, 900 Boy Scouts have already learned basic riding and maintenance skills while earning safety patches with Polaris ATVs. What’s more, ten councils have received Polaris donations this year and the list of councils to participate will continue to grow.

“Polaris is proud to join forces with the Boy Scouts of America to develop a comprehensive off-road vehicle program that introduces youth to our sport with an emphasis on safety, responsible riding and respect for the environment,” said Scott Wine, Polaris Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “We are encouraged by the success of the pilot off-road programs and look forward to expanding the course to a national level.”

Check out the video clip below to discover why your Scouts won’t want to miss out on a chance to hop on one of these off-road vehicles at your next High-Adventure base stop!
