Calling All Arrowmen: Join Order of the Arrow Trail Crew Today!

Are you an Arrowman who’s ready to be challenged mentally, physically, and spiritually in the great outdoors? If you are up to the challenge, join the Order of the Arrow Trail Crew for a 14-day adventure at Philmont Scout Ranch! The program is packed full of opportunities that will strengthen leadership skills and teach advanced wilderness and low-impact camping skills, among many other trail-building techniques. 

Starting on the flanks of Mt. Phillips, Arrowmen begin their journey with a week of trail construction and then a trek across Philmont’s backcountry (specially chosen for program participants!). 

“I think one of the greatest appeals of OATC is that youth get to build a tangible trail, leaving a lasting legacy that will be utilized by tens of thousands of youth for years to come,” said Marketing Manager Bryan Hayek of Philmont Scout Ranch. 

What’s more, all Philmont participants receive an arrowhead patch when they complete their Philmont trek. This year there is a special limited-edition OATC 100 arrowhead patch that can only be earned during the summer of 2015.

Who May Participate?

To be able to participate in the Order of the Arrow Trail Crew program, participants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a registered member of both the Boy Scouts of America and a local Order of the Arrow lodge.
• Be at least 16 years old the day the program begins and not yet 21 by the time it ends.
• Be physically fit, able to lift and handle materials up to 50 pounds (Philmont height and weight guidelines will be strictly enforced).

Scouts from the same unit, or otherwise acquainted, will be placed in separate crews. No exceptions can be made to these requirements. Selection for this program is competitive and is both an honor and a privilege.
