Congratulations to the New Northeast Region Director!

MosbyEffective March 1, 2016, John Mosby will tackle a new role as the Northeast Region director. John will work in partnership with the volunteer and staff leadership of the region, areas, and councils to deliver quality Scouting programs and experiences to an increasing number of young people in the Northeast. 

Since 2012, John has been successfully serving as the Scout executive of the Narragansett Council, headquartered in Providence, R.I.

John began his career in the Heart of America Council, located in Kansas City, Mo., serving as district executive, district director, director of program, assistant director of field service, and director of field service. He was then selected as Scout executive of the Illowa Council in Davenport, Iowa. After six successful years, he was selected as Scout executive of the Northeast Illinois Council in Highland Park, Ill. before his promotion to the Narragansett Council.

John is a graduate of Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree in education and a minor in mathematics. He is an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow. John served in volunteer roles as Pack committee chair and assistant Scoutmaster for his two Eagle Scout sons. He also served as a leader for treks to both Philmont and the Florida Sea Base. When he’s not serving others through Scouting, he enjoys running and bicycle racing.
