The April 15 edition of the Finance Impact Department’s e-Letter has been published and is now available online.

In this issue, you’ll learn about Member Data Shared Services, a new service where local councils can outsource their membership processes to a team that reviews their registrations for accuracy and completeness, emails unit service executives directly to resolve issues, submits all new adult registrations for criminal background checks, provides management reporting of outstanding defective registrations, performs registration fee reconciliation, and does the daily posting details. This new service has been piloted since 2012, and is now a proven model currently being used in 10 local councils.

Also in this issue are the Microsoft Windows XP end-of-life cycle, alerting local councils that are currently using it that they must upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 64-bit to remain PCI-compliant; 2013 local council audited financial statements that are due to the National Council June 1, 2014; the PeopleSoft and SellWise user groups webinar schedule; how local councils can order customized polo shirts, neckerchiefs, and more for their Scouting Alumni Association and National Eagle Scout Association committees; and the Blackbaud CRM webinar sessions through July 2014.
