First Class Camping Requirements to Double in 2016

First Class Camping Requirements to Double in 2016

Do you love campfires and the stories told around them? Does dining in the woods sound like a five-star meal to you? Well get ready to celebrate!

Beginning Jan. 1, 2016, camping requirements for First Class Boy Scouts will increase.

Previously, the requisite for First Class Scouts was three overnight camping trips, but now six overnight trips will be required for advancement.

Bryan on Scouting  recently shared an article regarding the camping requirement updates and how they will change at different ranks before First Class.

This change will make sure that First Class Scouts are equipped with enough camping experience as they continue their Scouting careers. Once a Scout is familiar with camping, every time he goes on another trip, he can build on what he has already mastered. There is always something new to be learned in nature.

Be sure to read Bryan’s article  for all the details and get excited for good times in the great outdoors!
