Jim Rees Selected as Scout Executive of Greater Tampa Bay Area Council

Join us as we congratulate James M. Rees, who will serve as Scout executive of Greater Tampa Bay Area Council in Tampa, Florida, effective January 1, 2018.

Jim began his Scouting career in 1991 as a district executive in Evangeline Area Council in Lafayette, Louisiana, before moving up to serve that council as a field director. In 2001, he moved on to become the director of field service in East Carolina Council in Kinston, North Carolina. In 2004, he returned to Evangeline Area Council as the Scout executive.

In 2008, he was promoted to associate regional director of finance for the Southern Region. Jim then accepted the position of director of development in Sam Houston Area Council in Houston, Texas, followed by a promotion to the council’s chief development officer.

Jim and his wife, Jeannine Lanoux, have three daughters.
