How the New Venturing Website Was Designed By Actual Venturers

Have you checked out Venturing.org lately? If not, you’re in for a surprise because the website is now completely revamped and optimized to fit the Venturing experience. Even better, the site redesign was entirely youth-driven!

National Venturing President Pratik Vaidya says the site makeover was one of the key goals he sought to accomplish during his term as the program president with the hope that he could improve the way Venturing communicates to its members on a national scale.

Beginning in late September, Venturing representatives from each region – Cathie S., Central Region; Ripley P., Northeast Region; William C., Southern Region; and Pratik Vaidya, Western Region – came together to brainstorm, plan and design a new Venturing website. The team scanned every page of the website to ensure that it was created with the Venturer in mind. The Venturers also surveyed the opinions of other members in their regions. Once it was given the thumbs up, the team sent the final sketches to the BSA National Service Center to see their designs come to life.

The result? An interactive, easily accessible site that is mobile-friendly and Venturer-approved. The new website is the official one-stop-shop for all things Venturing and replaces its former home at scouting.org/venturing. The site includes a calendar of events to keep Venturers in the know, along with resources and information about training. For those new to Venturing, the site features an “About” tab with pages like the Venturing Terminology page to give anyone the lowdown on what Venturing is all about.

But that’s not all – check out the new website for yourself and share with your Venturing friends and family! Know someone who might be interested in joining Venturing? Share the new site with them too to help them get connected to a local crew!
