Do you know a stand-out Scouting alum who’s made an extraordinary difference to the nation? Now’s your time to recognize that person because nominations are now open for the National Alumnus of the Year Award!
This award is the Scouting Alumni Association’s highest recognition and was established to recognize alumni of the BSA who, over a sustained period of time, have used the skills and values they learned through their association with Scouting to make significant and long-lasting contributions to our nation through their careers, avocations, and Scouting. A BSA alumnus includes anyone positively and personally impacted by the BSA—former Scouts, family members of Scouts past and present, community leaders, and the millions of Americans who benefit from Scouting in their communities every day.
To prevent embarrassment, the candidate should not be notified of the nomination. The Selection Committee will review the nominations and determine whether and to whom an award will be presented. Self-nomination is prohibited. The award will be presented at the BSA National Annual Meeting in May.
You can download nomination forms at http://www.scouting.org/filestore/alumni/pdf/542-959_WB.pdf and submit to the Scouting Alumni Association at BSAalumni@Scouting.org. Submissions are also accepted via P.O. Box 152079, Irving, TX, 75015. And keep in mind, nominations must be submitted to the Scouting Alumni Association and received by January 1, 2016.
