The National Catholic Committee on Scouting’s annual training conference, “Scouting in the Catholic Church” is just around the corner!
From July 24-30, 2016, Scouters of all experience levels will gather at the Philmont Scout Ranch High-Adventure base to spend five days fine-tuning their youth ministry skills.
Learn From National Leaders
The conference is designed for Scout chaplains; clergy; (arch)diocesan or parish youth ministers; and diocesan, regional and national Catholic committee leadership and members who want to learn about the role of Scouting in Catholic youth ministry.
Conference leaders will cover topics from the National Catholic Leadership Development program, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry, and more.
Through classes and discussions, participants are in for valuable training in a beautiful environment. But of course, it wouldn’t be a High-Adventure experience without outdoor fun!
Conference-goers will have the evenings and all of Wednesday to explore Philmont and discover what the Scout ranch has to offer. Activities like rock climbing and hiking are sure to make this a training conference unlike any other.
Make this Scouting event the highlight of your Summer! Be sure to check out Philmont’s website for more information and registration details. If you have additional questions about this conference, please send a note to NCCS@Scouting.org.
