How to Celebrate Scout Sunday This Year

February is just around the corner, and that means Scout Sunday, Scout Sabbath, and BSA’s birthday is too! With the Scouting holiday trifecta quickly approaching, we’re bringing you the dates and details for these BSA celebrations.

Scout Sunday falls on February 7 this year, followed by BSA’s 106th anniversary on February 8, and then Scout Sabbath on February 13. Bryan on Scouting recently shared a blog post about Scout Sunday, explaining how the date is chosen each year. He also has the scoop on Scout Sabbath, and how to observe the special day with your charter organization.Screen Shot 2016-01-20 at 1.43.41 PM

As you may know, Scout Sunday and Scout Sabbath are days set aside to honor the relationships between Scouts and their charter organizations. Each organization is unique, so the way Scout Sunday is celebrated might also be unique. You might celebrate by wearing the field service uniform to your place of worship, while a troop across town teams up for a service project.

If you’re looking for a new way to honor your charter organization, Bryan delivers some awesome ideas along with tips like where to get your Scout Sunday gear. Make sure to check out Bryan’s post and get a head-start on your Scout Sunday festivities!
