The Summit Offers Education and Adventure for UMC Scout Leader Course

Calling all United Methodist Church Scouters! Are you ready to expand your Scout leadership skills? Or maybe you’re looking to brush up on the latest BSA programs. What better place to grow your Scouting knowledge than a BSA High-Adventure Base?

The Summit Bechtel Reserve will host a special event from June 19-24, 2016 for Scouting volunteers of the United Methodist Church. Attendees are in for a thrill when they see the High-Adventure Base transform into a classroom for some Summit-style training!

New and experienced Scouters alike are sure to benefit from the conference, hosted at the John D. Tickle National Training and Leadership Center. Volunteers will gather to exchange tips and ideas, and glean knowledge from success stories from councils around the country. The six-day endeavor will also include expert-led discussions on topics such as:

• Award programs
• Youth protection
• Membership growth
• New BSA programs

Naturally, these learning sessions aren’t limited to the classroom. Scouters can participate in activities like white-water rafting, rock climbing, and zip-lining. Not to mention, attendees will get a look ahead at what the 2017 Jamboree has in store.
