Please join us in congratulating Todd McGregor, who will serve as the next director of the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia, effective March 1, 2017.
Todd will succeed Dan McCarthy, who has chosen to retire following successfully serving as the director of the Summit since the spring of 2012. As with Dan, Todd will lead the continuing development and operation of our fourth national outdoor adventure site, which serves as the permanent home of the national jamboree, as a high-adventure and summer experience destination, as well as the future home of the Thomas S. Monson Leadership Complex.
In this role, Todd will work in conjunction with Jamboree Director Matt Myers to ensure that the Scouting movement’s iconic event continues to offer a range of life-changing experiences for our Scouts, Scouters, Explorers, and Venturers.
Todd began his Scouting career as a district executive at the Mid-America Council in Omaha, NE. He was later promoted to the position of development director with the Chicago Area Council in Chicago, IL, and later accepted an opportunity to serve as director of field service with the Quivira Council in Wichita, KS. He was selected to serve as Scout executive of the Winnebago Council in Waterloo, IA. In 2005, he was promoted to the position of area director in the Northeast Region, where he has provided leadership with distinction.
Todd and his wife, Kay, have two children.
Please join us in congratulating Todd in the comments below as he joins the National Staff to provide programs to more youth.
