The Top 10 Scouting Wire Stories You Were Glued to in 2016

2016 was an incredible year of growth for Scouting Wire. Officially named the blog of the Scouting Movement, Scouting Wire was designed to be every volunteer and employee’s hub for Boy Scouts of America program updates, leadership news, training, recruiting, fundraising, Scouting success stories and more.

By developing content tailored to the needs of our volunteers and employees, Scouting Wire has proven itself in 2016 as a must-have resource for any Scouter – and it’s still growing at a tremendous rate. More than 150,000 people get the Scouting Wire newsletters in their inbox every week, and the website reached a total of 1.5 million views for the year. That’s a lot of new eyes on Scouting Wire.

Scouting Wire welcomed new ideas and content from our volunteers and employees via the Scouting Wire Contributor Program, and garnered a variety of impactful stories from local councils that were shared with thousands of Scouters across the nation. 2016 also saw the expansion of the Marketing and Membership Hub and the BSA Brand Center. Since launching last year, these tools have been updated and continue to be the one-stop-shop for photos, videos, and marketing resources galore, like the recently released 2017 Growth Plan.
