Youth Protection Incident Information Report Forms, Tips Now Available

As announced in the May 8, 2014, issue of Scout Wire, a Youth Protection/Membership Incident Information Report form and sheet of incident documenting and reporting tips has been produced for inclusion in the existing Incident Reporting Kit (680-147, burnt orange folder).

Your council Scout executive has or will soon be receiving four Youth Protection/Membership Incident Information Reporting pads (680-676) and a Position Statement with reporting tips (680-677).

We recommend all professionals keep copies at their desks and in their program backpacks and trunks—anywhere readily accessible.

The form and accompanying tips have been designed to serve as tools for Scouting professionals when they are gathering pertinent information and details such as the who, what, when, and where about a reported incident. Conscientious use of these tools to collect information about incidents can be of great value in responding to reports in an appropriate and effective manner.

The Youth Protection/Membership packets are supplements to the current Incident Reporting Kit and these additions will be included in future printings of the Incident Reporting Kit or when you order additional kits through the normal process from the Supply Group.

Completed Youth Protection/Membership Incident Information Report forms and questions regarding the submission of a report should be sent to YPMincident@scouting.org.

Questions regarding the Incident Reporting Kit can be directed to the Health and Safety team at health.safety@scouting.org.
