Unveiling the Statue That Honors One of Scouting’s Iconic Leaders

You’ve seen the making of the life-size Dan Beard statue and learned about the influential man behind the bronze, but now, Scouts and Scouters have the opportunity to behold the finished product in all of it’s glory.

On Saturday, October 24, the Dan Beard Council unveiled the long-anticipated statue of Daniel “Uncle Dan” Carter Beard and celebrated the momentous occasion during a dedication ceremony. A gift from Scouting benefactor and patron of the arts Bob Griffin, the bronze statue will be a permanent fixture at the council’s Marge Schott Scout Achievement Center.

The council named after Daniel Carter Beard honored its namesake for his instrumental role in the foundation of Scouting and hopes the statue will makes a lasting impression on Scouts and Scouters for years to come.

Check out photos from the dedication day below!
