Find Out Who Took the Stage at the 2016 Outdoor Inspiration Awards

Scouts and Scouters of all ages have the ability to inspire outdoor enthusiasm in their communities.

A panel of industry experts honored such exceptional individuals and groups for encouraging others to engage in outdoor fun, at the sixth annual Outdoor Inspiration Awards.

Among the hand-selected recipients was Jackie T. in the Boy Scouts Youth category. She was presented with the esteemed award at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City, on Jan. 8.

Jackie is quickly working toward her Ranger Award for outdoor adventure in the BSA’s Venturing program. She received the Outdoor Inspiration Youth Award for her leadership and passion for outdoor adventure.

Other honorees included LifeStraw in the manufacturer category, Alpenglow Sports in the retail category, Andy Janicki of Wheels to Water in the individual category, and Big City Mountaineers in the non-profit category.

Vice president and Outdoor Retailer show director, Marisa Nicholson expressed how valuable the event is for the outdoor adventure industry and congratulated all 2016 participants.

“Their achievements and industry accomplishments are not only inspirational, but also provide us all with a renewed sense of pride and passion for our work and our industry,” Nicholson shared in the Outdoor Inspiration Award announcement.

Last year, Eagle Scout Matt Moniz received the award for his own inspiring adventures. The experienced climber has not only climbed Mt. Everest, but was also awarded the Honor Medal for his life-saving actions as you may have already read on Scouting Wire.
