Advance Your Career — and Your Council’s Fundraising: Fundamentals of Fundraising Course

The BSA Fund Development Department and ScoutingU have teamed up with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) to offer local council staff and volunteers an opportunity to earn CFRE International continuing education credits by participating in an AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Course. 

This course will be required for all BSA local council commissioned development professionals in the near future. We encourage all professionals with key development assignments as well as those unit serving executive who and interested in pursuing a development jog assignment to take course.

The course offers a complete overview of the development function, featuring the most current information and techniques. The intensive 16-hour course includes case studies and projects for groups and individuals, making the learning experience substantive. Created by experienced fundraising professionals, this seven-module course is designed to meet the real-world needs and challenges nonprofit organizations face every day.  

The cost of the course is $250 and includes all course materials, AFP education credit hours and some meals.  Transportation and lodging are not included.

Two course offerings remain for 2015: Sept. 15-17 at the Patriots Path Council Service Center in Florham Park, NJ, and Nov. 17-19 at the Heart of America Council Service Center in Kansas City, MO.
