Announcing Our 2017 National Jamboree

Announcing Our 2017 National Jamboree

It seems like we just finished catching our breath from the 2013 National Jamboree when we are now announcing the official theme and logo for the next Jamboree in 2017 – where has the time gone?

From going big and getting wild in 2013, in 2017, we will “Live Scouting’s Adventure.” This is the theme that will welcome thousands of Scouts, Venturers, volunteers and staff from across the nation to the mountains of West Virginia, as we launch our 2017 National Jamboree at The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve.

Here’s a look at the 2017 official logo, just unveiled today within one of many banners we have created:

“Live Scouting’s Adventure” captures both Scouting’s legacy of creating adventures that develop young people into leaders of tomorrow, as well as to the future adventures of the next century of Scouting. The theme and logo truly symbolize the adventurous spirit and exciting high adventure and outdoor opportunities available to youth and adults in the Scouting program.

This will be the second jamboree held at The Summit, located in the beautiful New River Gorge region of West Virginia. And on the heels of the 2017 National Jamboree, we will welcome Scouts from all over the globe to the 2019 World Scout Jamboree at The Summit. These are truly exciting times to share nature’s wonders of our new jamboree home and high adventure base, as well as all that Scouting has to offer to young people from all over the world!

I congratulate Jamboree Chairman Ralph de la Vega, and the Jamboree leadership team, for their leadership and vision in the planning for our next National Jamboree. I urge all of you to support their efforts any way you can. It’s also a good time to begin your planning and fundraising to allow you to register and send Scouts from your units to these historic and memorable Scouting events. There’s a lot of work to do!
