Congrats to the 2016 NESA Scholarship Award Winners!

Two Eagle Scouts were recognized with the 2016 NESA Scholarship Award Friday, during BSA’s National Annual Meeting in San Diego.

From improving the community, to discoveries in astrophysics, these Scouts show there are a multitude of ways young people can make a difference, regardless of age.

Meet Zachary Blohm of the Three Harbors Council, and William Ceva of the Coastal Carolina Council, who both received the awards during NESA’s Americanism Breakfast last week.

In a recent blog post, Bryan on Scouting explains how Zachary brought his community together with his Eagle project. His hard work resulted in a brand-new playground at a local elementary school, and for this diligent orchestration, Zachary received the 2016 Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award.

The post also shares how William’s mission to study planets outside of our solar system, called “exoplanets,” led to a $50,000 NESA STEM scholarship. With the help of NESA’s award, nothing stands in the way of this Scout’s goal to “see parts of the universe nobody else has seen,” according to Bryan.
