Get Schooled This Fall with Scouting U
It’s back to school season in Scouting, folks! And no, we aren’t talking about dashing to your first class or memorizing your new schedule. Adult volunteers in Scouting are gearing up for a unique educational experience with Scouting University (Scouting U).
Not your typical university, Scouting U offers professional, position-specific training that helps Scouters deliver high-quality programs to youth and adult members. Scouting offers learning experiences in multiple delivery formats that fit with your busy schedule. Whether online or in the classroom, Scouting U provides training opportunities that work best for your learning style. Courses are offered in-person in a volunteer-led classroom at the council level or online via the upcoming BSA LearnCenter.
Scouting U seeks to enhance leadership impact on youth programs through enriching, effective and fun learning opportunities, while also fostering a continuous learning environment for leaders. Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Venturing, and Sea Scout leadership training is available, in addition to a variety of supplemental courses like Wood Badge training and National Youth Leadership training.
What’s more, Scouting U is constantly looking for ways to make the Scouting education process better for Scouters. New updates are rolling out this fall that will make accessing and managing your training courses easier. Keep an eye out for an upcoming Scouting Wire post that gives you a comprehensive look at what new features are heading your way!
