‘Half Troops’ Option May Help Your Council Send More Scouts to the Jamboree

‘Half Troops’ Option May Help Your Council Send More Scouts to the Jamboree

If you have Scouts on your council’s 2017 National Jamboree waitlist, but not enough to constitute a full contingent, the Jamboree Team may have a solution for you: “half troops,” consisting of 18 youth members and two adult volunteers!

Due to high demand in some councils across the country, those Scouts in your council who are still interested in registering for Scouting’s biggest event — planned for July 19-28 at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia — now have a potential option to join in on the fun.

Half troops will be paired with other half troops from the same area or region at the jamboree, creating an exciting opportunity for Scouts to meet and work together with their peers at the regional level.

If this would be a good option for your council, please contact the Jamboree Team at (972) 580-2137 to discuss the addition of a half troop.

Information about the event, as well as a registration link, can be found at www.bsajamboree.org. We’ll see you at the Summit Bechtel Reserve!
