How Scouts Helped Shape the History of Aviation

How Scouts Helped Shape the History of Aviation

November is National Aviation History Month. That’s a whole month focused on the amazing achievements the United States has made in the development of aviation. And when you consider the impact Scouts have had on aviation history, we have a lot to celebrate this month.

Recently, the Boys’ Life Heads Up blog shared an article that takes a closer look at some famous Scouts like Neil Armstrong and Steve Fossett who made huge contributions to the history of aviation. Be sure to read the full article to learn more about these Scouts whose exploits have inspired millions of people the world over and changed the face of aviation.

The article also offers some additional coverage of Boys’ Life Senior Writer Aaron Derr who made a little history of his own doing a ride along with the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels. You can check out that footage below:

We know the history of aviation is full of well-known Scouts like those in the Heads Up article as well as those Scouts who have worked behind the scenes to help push aviation forward. Do you know about other Scouts from the past or present day who have made a significant impact on aviation and should be celebrated during National Aviation History Month? We would love to hear those stories, so please share them in the comments or drop us a line with more info.
