How These Scouts Used Pokémon Go to Boost Popcorn Sales
Story contributed by Taylor Olmstead, Marketing Coordinator at the Atlanta Area Council
The Scouts in pack 420 really get energized about popcorn sales when they are out in public. This was especially true at our booth at the Duluth Fall Festival. The Scouts sold popcorn and took donations for members of our United States Armed Forces.
With Pokémon Go being so popular, this year, the Scouts have been out and about hunting for in-game Pokéstops for weeks. Our booth at the festival just happened to be near two Pokéstops, so a former pack 420 Cub Scout, and current Star Scout with troop 419, Joseph, decided to help the pack advertise our popcorn and Pokéstop together by creating signs.
Special Visitor Shares Scouting Story at Fundraiser
While they were working the booth a JROTC Cadet stopped by to speak to the Scouts. He told them that he was a Scout and explained how far it had gotten him in life. He encouraged the Scouts in attendance to stay involved in the program and continue in their service to the community and their country.
