New Unit Sales Kit and Chartered Organization Resource Guide Now Available

A New-Unit Sales Kit called “Strengthening Your Organization Through Scouting” and the Chartered Organization Resource Guide have both been redeveloped for use by local councils to focus specifically on properly researching, planning, and making productive visits to multiple prospective chartered organizations.

These new designs promote Scouting’s positive impact in the community and provide professionals and volunteers the opportunity to customize their approach to meet the needs of an individual chartered civic/community, educational, or faith- based organization. These resources also contain commonly asked questions regarding annual charter agreement liability information and youth protection, as well as helpful resources for an organization to commit to offer the whole Scouting family.

Hard copies of the new-unit sales kit with a valuable instruction sheet for adding recommended handouts in the folder, and the Chartered Organization Resource Guide CDs were distributed at the August 2014 Top Hands meeting in Anaheim, California, from the National Alliances team booth. We are distributing sample new copies to all councils as well, in case some were not able to pick them up during the meeting.

Electronic copies are now available online at www.scouting.org/membership. (Click under “Unit Development.”) For more information, please contact Mark R. Wappel or Marcos Nava with the National Alliances Team.
