Online Registration Is Live Across Scouting Nation
Scouting families and prospective Scouting families have asked for it, and it’s here! The Boy Scouts of America is offering online registration to meet the demand for completing the entire registration process for youth members and adult leaders in councils across the organization.
Since fall 2016, online registration has been rolling out to councils across the country, and we’ve seen great success and adoption with this new system. This is a giant leap forward in allowing prospective members and leaders to register in a way that’s convenient for them. Online registration creates a more efficient and user-friendly registration experience for units, districts, and councils, and we’re excited to have all councils completely on-boarded.
How to Put Online Registration to Good Use
So your council has been on-boarded for online registration, but how can you facilitate the effectiveness of online registration? Update your BeAScout pin!
BeAScout.org is often one of the first introductions parents have to Scouting. By updating your BeAScout pin, you are helping to connect these parents to a pack, troop, crew or ship near them. Take note, not all volunteers can update their unit’s pin. This responsibility lies in the primary unit leader, unit committee chair and chartered organization representative’s hands. For a quick step-by-step approach to updating your BeAScout pin, check out this guide on Scouting Wire.
How-to files, training videos, FAQs, and more are also available to councils to ensure that their online registration experience is easy to use and implement for potential new families to Scouting.
