Patrick Scherer Selected as Scout Executive of Great Trail Council

Congratulations to Patrick Scherer, who will serve as Scout executive of Great Trail Council in Akron, Ohio, effective June 16, 2017.

Pat began his Scouting career as a district executive at Bay-Lakes Council in Appleton, Wisconsin. He moved on to become the camping director and later district director at Bay-Lakes Council before being promoted to development director of Cascade Pacific Council in Portland, Oregon. He was then named director of field service of San Francisco Bay Area Council in San Leandro, California, and has most recently been the Scout executive of the Potawatomi Area Council in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Pat is an Eagle Scout who enjoys hiking, sporting clays, and volunteering with his church and Rotary Club. He and his wife, Mara, have two children: Maija and Tyler.
