Check Out the Summit’s Striking New Structures

Whether you’re an avid skater or a canoe aficionado, visit the Summit Bechtel Reserve this summer and you’ll be among the first to see the property’s newest additions.

Each Adventure Area is now home to it’s own pavilion! These majestic structures are equipped with electricity, lighting, and built-in storage to keep gear in tip-top shape. The pavilions also double as shelters, so you don’t have to let anything rain on your parade (or adventure).

Throughout the acreage, the new architecture looks right at home– and that’s because it is! The pavilions’ ceilings as well as the boards and battens were crafted from wood that came from the Summit’s own grounds.

smt2The project’s leader, Joe Kubin saw that each pavilion was built to fit one of two layouts, either 40’x 68′ or 20’x 48′.

“This gives us the potential to add multiple ones in the areas that don’t fit the big behemoth edition,” Danny Bell explains in a recent Summit blog post.

Thanks to Kubin’s structural genius, these uniform buildings also have unique installments to amplify the activities they host. The pavilion at the Summit’s skate-haven, the Park, even has a ramp so skateboarders don’t have to miss a second of classic Summit excitement.
