Why You Should Nominate a Scout or Venturer for the Outdoor Inspiration Award

Why You Should Nominate a Scout or Venturer for the Outdoor Inspiration Award

Scouts and Venturers are conquering extreme climates, climbing the highest peaks on the planet, breaking world records and accomplishing incredible feats in the outdoors almost everyday – so why not honor those stand-out kids in a big way?

Starting now through Friday, November 20, you can give inspiring Scouts and Venturers the major kudos they deserve by nominating them for the 2016 Outdoor Inspiration Awards.

Eagle Scout climber Matt Moniz took home the award last year and, as you’ve probably read on Scouting Wire, he’s been inspiring others to do great things ever since.

What Is the Outdoor Inspiration Awards?

The sixth annual Outdoor Inspiration Awards, presented by adidas Outdoor, will be celebrated during a ceremony at the Salt Palace Convention Center on Friday, January 8, 2015 at 6:00 p.m., the second night of Outdoor Retailer Winter Market.

A true outdoor community event, the Outdoor Inspiration Awards celebrate those that inspire and encourage others in their communities to enjoy, participate in and support outdoor activities and the outdoor industry.

How to Nominate a Scout or Venturer

Fill out the 2016 Outdoor Inspiration Awards Nomination Form under the ‘Boy Scouts of America, Youth’ category.

The Youth category is designed to recognize an outstanding youth (between 16-21 years old) in our community that shows leadership and passion for the outdoors and is an inspiration to us all.
Consider how a potential nominee shows leadership in their schools and communities, shares their sport and passion with others, and goes above and beyond to protect and preserve the environment.

Before you submit your nominee, consider all angles of inspiration criteria – impact, creativity, service, technology, philanthropy, engagement, longevity, sustainability, activities, adversity and awareness. Nominees will be selected based on those criteria by a selection panel of sponsoring brand leaders, industry manufacturers, specialty retailers, SNEWS and industry associations.

Nominations are due no later than 6 p.m. (PST), November 27, 2015, so nominate an outstanding Scout or Venturer for this year’s Outdoor Inspiration Awards today!
