Watch These Parents Share Why Scouting Is For Everyone
There’s no better way to convey the positive difference Scouting makes on youth than hearing a family’s firsthand account of the program.
That’s why the BSA sat down with families across the country to hear how Scouting has transformed their families in the “Families Like Mine” video series. These Scouting testimonials are the perfect recruiting tools for your council that connect the value of Scouting with families in your communities. You’ve heard from Juan, Catherine, Becky, and Michelle. Now, hear how Lester and Apryl found friendship, family and support through the program.
A close-knit family, they have discovered a world of adventure and discovery through Scouting. Lester and Apryl have watched their sons grow outside of their comfort zones, conquer their fears, and form bonds comparable only to that of family. As Apryl explains in the video, Scouting has made an incredible difference to her son who is on the autism spectrum. She explains that through Scouting, he’s overcome obstacles and gained a lifelong support system.
“I appreciate when people support my children and show them love when I’m there and when I’m not there. That’s what the Scouting program does,” said Apryl. “You have a whole family of people to love and support your children. And they work together to make sure that everybody is successful.”
