Eagles Won’t Want to Miss This Special Guest at the National Eagle Scout Heritage Celebration

Scouts, Scouters and their friends and family are welcome to attend this year’s annual National Eagle Scout Heritage Celebration kickoff event to celebrate anyone and everyone who has earned Scouting’s highest rank. And guess what?! All Eagle Scouts receive free admission to the museum for the event and the entire week (Aug. 6-12)!

Taking place at the National Scouting Museum in Irving, Texas, the event will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11 a.m. The National Eagle Scout Heritage Celebration is a special event dedicated to recognizing and honoring Eagle Scouts of all ages from across the globe. The National Eagle Scout Heritage Celebration is made possible through a partnership between the National Scouting Museum and the National Eagle Scout Association.

As stars of the show, Eagle Scouts not only get free admission to the museum, they also receive a commemorative patch and the opportunity to sign a commemorative book that becomes a part of the museum’s permanent collection. The museum will also be displaying special Eagle Scout exhibits and artifacts through the week.

Dave Jorgenson, of the hilarious Dear Dave Youtube series, will be the keynote speaker, too! Earlier this year, the funny guy spoke at the National Annual Meeting’s Americanism Breakfast where he asked Cub Scouts, Eagle Scouts, Chief Scout Executive Mike Surbaugh, former BSA President Dr. Robert M. Gates, congressmen and veterans to explain what it means to be an American. Check it out for yourself: 

Additionally, special guest Julie A. Seton, PhD, granddaughter of Ernest Thompson Seton, will be signing copies of her book Trail of an Artist during the event.
